I really like this approach. I haven't watched the news in probably a decade....I keep up via my husband and when I start my computer up and catch tidbits on msn. I certainly agree with Lattegirl's comment. Thanks for this illuminating post.

Very good points! I do try to incorporate those I don't know personally but have learned about via other bloggers and such but never really thought of the news and the impact the power of prayer could have with respect to that source.

It is very easy to become overwhelmed by the international news and to be sucked into an abyss of despair when we become aware of our apparent helplessness to change things or even to alleviate the world's suffering in any significant way. Very true for me. I stopped watching the news on TV or reading newspapers months ago because I found myself feeling disgusted, horrified, sad, angry at injustices and misuse of power/greed/selfishess/arrogance/dishonesty. I retreated into my own world where I strive to do some small good every day. But this book and these ideas are illuminating, giving me a way to NOT shut out the world at large entirely. Thanks.
